    RAW IS:

  • Fresh
  • Natural
  • Nutritious
  • Tasty
  • Healthy
  • Once foods have been heated over 140degrees farenheit they lose most of their nutritional value. Incorporating more raw & live foods into everyday life will make it easier on the body to absorb vital nutrients, micro-nutrients, vitamins & minerals in an easy way. From experience, simply increasing up to 50% raw and introducing certain superfoods (and supplements) into one’s eating habits can have a deep effect on energy levels & overall vitality. It has also been shown to assist people in dealing with more chronic & debilitating health issues. Superfoods increase this potential due to the nutrient dense profiles of these foods.

We are not advocating all raw foods, an exclusive way of life, or that eating this way 100% will work for everyone. However, the earth is a vast source of wholesome goodness, which can be explored for each individual, providing new ideas & produce in order to assist with maintaining balance in the over paced & overstressed life that we have had to become accustomed to.

    FAQ’S

I am really wanting to manage/control my weight – what would you suggest?
Superfoods are so nutrient dense that most will have an impact on appetite & weight management. The superfoods work on a cellular level and provide nutrient sources of vitamins and minerals, which have been shown to assist in sustaining energy, and cellular renewal.

Cacao contains appetite suppressants & purple corn has showed in tests to support weight control. The barleygrass & wheatgrass give a vast great spectrum of vitamins & minerals, live enzymes & proteins, which will all help to boost the nutrient load leading to less cravings. Spirulina & Chlorella work on a deeper level helping to increase the protein & essential fat intake & therefore supporting the blood sugar balance & longer term energy resources & mental focus. Bee Pollen & wolfberries provide essential amino acids, proteins & fats to sustain the energy in a tasty & wholesome way. Maca, Coconut Butter & Seagreens support the endocrine system & thyroid which will have a nourishing & sustaining effect, assisting in essential absorption of specific fats, nutrients & micro nutrients. Yacon is a fantastic low calorie snack, powder & syrup which, although sweet, is not recognised as a sugar by the body & can also support intestinal flow & microflora balance.

We would recommend reading through our downloadable pdf/information booklet in order to see which superfoods would resonate best with you. Alternatively we can suggest a few ideas to start with if you need help to balance the blood sugar, reduce cravings, replace certain foods or increase your nutrients. I’ve got such a busy Lifestyle – how can I fit it all in?
The simplest way to introduce the superfoods is through drinks. You can add them to water, fruit smoothies or juices, warm or cold milk drinks (preferably non dairy). These can be drunk in the morning, at elevensies instead of tea/coffee and biscuits or a chocolate bar, or during your mid afternoon energy slump. Sprinkling the superfoods on your breakfast is also an easy way to get a great start to the day. Making these foods palatable is the best way to take them to start with – and they can be really tasty if you get it right. If in doubt use a smoothie recipe and add extra creamed coconut and yacon powder or syrup to ensure the right sweetness.

Each individual will have an easier time for making and taking these foods. Find what works best for you and remember to be adaptable if your routine or needs change. You may want to use a pre- prepared smoothie and sprinkle a few superfoods in, or make a batch of juices or smoothies to last you a couple of days.

Can I take more than one superfood at once?
The superfoods work synergistically together & will support each other in absorption & potency. Each individual will have tendencies for one or two that most fit their profile in terms of the powders. Some people like to start with one or two superfoods so they can monitor the results & individual properties, others like to mix three or four together for an all in one nutrient power blast!

What’s the difference between wheatgrass & barleygrass?
Wheatgrass has a more rejuvenative, energising effect and barleygrass is a bit more gentle & rebalancing. The traditional detoxification effects of wheatgrass may be a bit strong for individuals, depending upon other areas such as the diet and digestive system, so barleygrass tends to be a little easier to integrate. Some people prefer the taste of one over another, and others mix the two together.

Can any of the superfoods make you sick?
If you are starting we would recommend introducing very small amounts to allow the cells and body to get used to the effects. I have never known any one sick from any of the superfoods ( apart from graviola which has to be taken in very small doses or can create nausea). I have experienced minimal detox reactions from maca, barleygrass & wheatgrass – as the body clears impurities from the cells (depending upon each individual’s system). This may occur in the form of symptoms such as a cold, minor headache etc. We would normally see this as a healing reaction but if a detox reaction does occur you can minimise the dose, & look at foods that are being consumed which may aggravate these symptoms such as those listed under ‘what to avoid’ section.

What would you suggest for severe auto-immune or other chronic conditions?
We have helped a number of people with appropriate complementary support & techniques during periods of chronic illnesses, some alongside allopathic medicine & treatment & others with alternatives. Some techniques or programmes may be very simple, whilst others are more involved & these depend on the level of support available, appropriateness of techniques or products, & willingness of the individual. SUPERFOOD INTEGRATION

Superfoods can be integrated to support any diet. The powders can be added to drinks, juices, water, smoothies, shakes and warm milk (non-dairy) drinks, and can also be sprinkled on soups, stews, sauces, added to dressings and cereals. The snacks can be eaten on the go or used as luxury health alternatives to overprocessed and refined sugar or salty snacks. Energy balls can easily be made as a tasty way of getting high energy nutrient dense sustenance that can be eaten alone, thrown into smoothies or crumbled on cereals or desserts.

    DOSAGES

All our products have usage guidelines on them. We would recommend starting small ¼ to ½ teaspoon & increasing gradually as stated to find your optimum levels. Increasing your intake of clean fresh water (to 1 litre per 4 stone of body weight) will assist the body with hydration & maximum compatibility. Some of the products such as wheatgrass, barleygrass or maca may produce a minimal detox reaction, as the body clears impurities from the cells (depending upon each individual’s system). This may occur in the form of symptoms such as a cold, minor headache etc. We would normally see this as a healing reaction. If a detox reaction does occur you can minimise the dose, and look at foods that are being consumed which may aggravate these symptoms such as those listed under ‘what to avoid’ below.
For the best effects we would recommend taking the products for a minimum of six weeks although most people start to notice differences to energy levels, appetite, moods etc within a few days to a week, depending upon the individual, overall diet, lifestyle and product. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email if you would like some guidelines as to where to start with any of our superfoods, if at all in doubt or with any questions. We also offer consultation services for those who need more in depth nutritional advice.

    WHAT TO AVOID

For maximum absorption & efficiency we would recommend limiting dairy, wheat, caffeine, alcohol, sugar, hydrogenated fats and meat intake. Highly processed foods and those with unnatural chemicals and additives will be much harder for the body to recognise and give the cells a much more difficult job in functioning to their optimum levels. However finding replacements and alternatives are essential, particularly as most of these foods tend to be a prominent part of everyday diet and lifestyle. High stress will also deplete the body of it’s minerals and vitamins – so where possible limit stress, or support the body appropriately with supplements and correct nutrition. Please contact us for further advice.

    DIETARY LIMITATIONS

All our foods & superfoods are suitable for those with restricted diets, and can offer great nutritent dense additions or alternatives to other more common foods, which many people are finding increased sensitivity to. Our recipes are dairy free, gluten free, sugar free, chemical free, additive free, filler free and are subject to little or minimal processing only where essential.

    FOOD ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCES

Food intolerances are becoming ever more prominent in our society. Much of these intolerances have been linked to extreme over production and the over processing of foods. A diet rich in simple  whole foods is easiest for the body to thrive on. We have seen vast changes in weight management, energy increase, mind clarity and overall moods from making simple changes to whole foods and an increase in raw foods and fresh water.

    • Our raw chocolate products contain nuts, or may contain traces of nuts.

    • Wheatgrass can be taken by those who suffer from wheat or gluten intolerances.

    • From experience our agave & yacon syrups, lucuma, stevia & yacon powders and Xylitol can be eaten by those who have mild blood sugar imbalances, and those with diabetes type 2. For those with diabetes type 1 we would suggest using yacon as a sweetener or alternatively stevia, some have also been fine with Agave Syrup, Xylitol & Lucuma.

    • For those susceptible to allergies or hay fever we would recommend avoiding Bee Pollen as it is a known allergen, however some people use very tiny amounts in a homepopathic way, please seek more advice if in doubt.

    • For those taking oral contraceptive, thyroxin, hrt or ivf to seek advice before taking Maca.

    • For those with diabetes type 1 to eat the Raw Chocolate Pie, Spread & Raw Chocolates with caution from although from experience these products have been suitable for most diabetics.
